What A Pain
Firstly, before anyone accuses us of trying to pass this story off as our own, its not, in more ways than one, you’ll discover. But we thought it to be something of interest, hence this blog post.
Get Reading ran a story on the 5th of April this year about poor workmanship and its impact on Rose Kendall from Whitley. Dont worry, we’re not about to promote the fact that we are cowboys! Quite the contrary. Naturally, Advance Windows are not cited as the villans in the story, we are actually cited as the saviours…
Rose called in another company, Advance Windows, which fitted her replacement double glazing
Well, as much as we would have liked to have helped, we can’t, in this case, in fact take the glory as Advance Windows were not actually called by Rose! Get Reading appear to have made a mistake, but we like it!
In all seriousness, here at Advance Windows, we understand that Rose is now secure and happy with the windows she now has. So thats great. If called, we would have of course been more than happy to have helped, and would have done an excellent job.
Rose had gaps around the windows which were fitted at her five-bedroom Northumberland Avenue home last June by Leeks, a Wales-based company which has a studio at Henry Street Garden Centre in Swallowfield Road, Arborfield.
When she challenged the Leekes fitters, she said she was told “it would be looked at and that they would sort something out”, before carrying on with the work. In the end she says she asked them to stop work and leave her home.
There has been some intertesting discussion on the article. One individual questions who measured up for the original windows. Its a valid point as if the owner had supplied the measurements for the new windows, then arguing the case for a poor fitting might be tricky. Others are taking a more light hearted view and suggesting that “with a name like Leeks, what do you expect!”
Obviously, contrary to the Get Reading article, we can’t claim to know anything about this case really, other than what we have read. It is not our position to suggest where the blame might lie.
Advance Windows would have been more than happy to have helped Rose with her double glazing issues. We are a local glazing company with a long and proud history in the Reading area.
